She was very thorough. She was finding out what's available in the surrounding Boroughs, things [customer] could do, and places he could go with his carers.
[H]is communication skills were excellent. He allowed me to pause, he allowed me time to retrieve words when I needed to. He made me feel like he had all the time in the world to sit and listen to me.
A lot of choices and control seem to be taken away from you. I'm unable to control what I'm going to be like on a day to day basis, on an hour to hour basis sometimes. And so to be able to feel in control about my own help and support, about what I want to do, was really important to me. It helped make me feel good about myself again.
