Become A Support Broker

We are recruiting for self-employed Support Brokers to work with Torbay and South Devon Integrated Care Organisation to support their patients and service users to navigate the complex world of state funding and dealing with service providers.

 

You don't need qualifications to apply, we will train and support you to gain a qualification in Support Brokerage within your first 3 months working with us. What interests us most is engaging the right people, with personal experience of long-term physical and mental health conditions, an interest in supporting others and a desire to make a difference. Our Support Brokers come from diverse backgrounds, have a willingness to think differently and a commitment to challenge ways of working, which is essential to success as a Support Broker. We need Support Brokers whose skills and personal experience support people to take control to live their best lives, with amazing results.

 

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU

 

Commitment, flexibility, passion, empathy, equality, mutual respect, social conscience, a strong desire to support others and make a difference. Personal experience of long term health conditions, your own or someone you have loved or supported. It will be your role as a Broker to work alongside the customer to give them a platform from which their voice can be heard.

 

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM US

 

  • Free comprehensive course to train you with a mix of workshops and online learning
  • Formal educational award in Support Brokerage from our registered MySupportBroker College
  • You will be paid £165 per customer Support Plan
  • You will receive one to one support from a Consultant Broker on each plan you undertake
  • Annual reaccreditation as a Support Broker

The MySupportBroker College

MySupportBroker has its own registered and accredited College, regulated by the Department for Education.

 

QCF Level 3 courses in Support Brokerage are delivered face-to-face and online through our e-learning platform. The College also runs our Community of Practice programme, maintaining Support Brokers’ proficiency to practice.

 

In addition, the College works with public, private and third sector organisations delivering a wide variety of training including peer-led, accredited and non-accredited, face-to-face and e-learning programmes, co-designed to develop and build capacity in support brokerage and peer-to-peer networking.

 

We are staffed by peer facilitators, trainers and coaches who are at least qualified to PTLLS and have a sound knowledge of current practice and thinking on Personalisation in Adult Social Care and Mental Health Services.
